Our trustees and governance

E-ACT is a charitable company limited by guarantee. Our primary regulator is the Department for Education, and our charitable objects are set out in our Articles of Association.

Our trustees

Our Board of Trustees are the guardians of E-ACT’s purpose and are ultimately accountable for the organisation.

Led by the Chair of the Board of Trustees, the board is made up of independent volunteers chosen for their expertise and experience gained in many industries. E-ACT’s board also includes the chief executive officer who is an elected trustee.

The Board of Trustees is also the governing body for E-ACT and all E-ACT academies.

Meet our Executive Leadership Team

The Board of Trustees is supported by the Executive Leadership Team.

Led by Chief Executive Officer Tom Campbell, the Executive Leadership Team is responsible for overseeing the implementation and delivery of organisational strategy.

Two regions, one E-ACT

E-ACT’s 28 academies fall into one of two regions: North and South.

Each region is led by regional education directors (RED) and regional operations directors (ROD), supported by a small team who support academy improvement.

Our REDs and RODs work closely with their academies and meet academy leadership formally through termly Governance Review Days (GRDs). In turn the Executive Leadership Team meets with REDs and RODs at termly Regional Performance Boards (RPBs).

Our E-ACT Ambassadors

E-ACT ambassador teams are made up of parents, community and staff members who share a passion for positively supporting our pupils, the academy and the community it serves.

Led by a chairperson, ambassadors meet at least once per term and have at least two parent representatives. The ambassadors work closely with headteachers and are supported by the national governance team and trustees.

Ambassadors are creative networkers who forge links with their community. They also support our community hub to ensure our children are getting the support they need at home.
