In drama, Mr L. Goodall leads on varying activities which change over the course of the year.
This year saw students perform festive plays to an audience of fellow students and pupils from our local primary school in December, visit patients at the Manor Hospital and get involved in ‘ThE-ACTs’, our talent show. Groups and projects are begun based on the interests and desires of our students, with recent years seeing students produce events as diverse as pantomimes, summer musical productions and stand-up comedy nights.
In the coming year, there will be further performances by options sets as they deliver their assessed pieces as well as opportunities for younger students to showcase their classwork. These efforts are supported by an open-door policy – students are able to rehearse and benefit from the advice of their teacher before or after school.
Lunchtime Drama Club
We have lots of ideas in mind for 2017-18, but so do our students! Lunchtimes see us gather to join in drama games and activities, having eaten. Our regular drama club members also meet after school when approaching a performance or project date. We are currently looking at storytelling for young children, before we our attention to a larger production next year.
